Several fighters from last week’s Las Vegas events from the UFC will be on the sidelines pending doctor’s clearance, with the Nevada Athletic Commission handing out medical suspensions to most of the fighters on UFC Fight Night 80 and The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale.
The commission emailed the list of suspensions to MMATorch earlier this week.
Several fighters are out up to six months, with Rose Namajunas, Elias Theodorou, Sergio Moraes, Kevin Casey, and Emily Kagan from Thursday’s Fight Night card getting 180 day terms, while Tony Ferguson, Ryan LaFlare, and Chris Gruetzemacher all getting the same for issues out of The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale.
Below is the full list of medical suspensions from each event.
UFC Fight Night 80 Medical Suspensions:
Rose Namajunas: suspended 180 days unless doctor clears left hand
Paige VanZant: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for precautionary reasons
Michael Chiesa: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days for precautionary reasons
Jim Miller: suspended 30 days with no contact for 14 days for precautionary reasons
Cody Pfister: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days for precautionary reasons
Elias Theodorou: suspended 180 days unless doctor clears right hand; regardless, suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
John Howard: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for precautionary reasons
Sergio Moraes: suspended 180 days unless doctor clears left hand; regardless, suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
Omari Akhmedov: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
Kevin Casey: suspended 180 days unless eye cleared by ophthalmologist
Johnny Eduardo: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
Aljamain Sterling: must have MRI by doctor within 7 days
Andreas Stal: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days
Emily Kagan: suspended 180 days unless doctor clears left knee; regardless, suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
TUF 22 Finale Medical Suspensions:
Chad Mendes: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for precautionary reasons
Tony Ferguson: suspended 180 days unless cleared by CT scan of head; regardless, suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days
Edson Barboza: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for lacerations on forehead
Evan Dunham: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for laceration over right eyebrow
Joe Lauzon: suspended 30 days with no contract for 21 days for precautionary reasons
Jason Knight: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days for laceration on left cheek
Tatsuya Kawajiri: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days for precautionary reasons
Konstantin Erokhin: suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days for left thumb injury
Mike Pierce: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for precautionary reasons
Ryan LaFlare: suspended 180 days unless right hand cleared by doctor; regardless, suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
Joey Sanchez: suspended 45 days with no contact for 30 days for lacerations under right eye and over left eyebrow
Chris Gruetzemacher: suspended 180 days unless left and right forearms cleared by doctor; regardless, suspended 30 days with no contact for 21 days
Abner Lloveras: suspended 60 days with no contact for 45 days for laceration over right eye lid
