The UFC continues to add fights to their first show of 2015, and another significant welterweight matchup is joining the UFC 195 event on Jan. 2, as Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson takes on Neil Magny on the Las Vegas card.

Thompson returns to action for the first time since taking out Jake Ellenberger with a spinning back kick to the head in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale in July. The exciting and flashy win was his fifth straight in the UFC, and his sixth in seven UFC appearances.

Magny’s been one of the busiest fighters in the organization over the last couple of years, fighting ten times over the last 23 months. He’s 8-2 in that stretch, posting a seven-fight winning streak as well before a loss to Demian Maia in August. He bounced back quickly from that defeat, taking out Erick Silva on short notice just three weeks later.

UFC 195 will be headlined by the UFC Welterweight Championship bout between Robbie Lawler and Carlos Condit, and thus far features two more bouts in the 170 lb. field in Lorenz Larkin vs. Albert Tumenov and Sheldon Westcott vs. Edgar Garcia.
