Conor McGregor thinks Nick Diaz’s five year suspension from NAC “absolutely ridiculous”

Nick Diaz continues to garner support from his fellow fighters after the asinine five-year suspension handed down by the Nevada Athletic Commission, and one of the latest to chime in is Interim Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor.

The Irish competitor proclaimed himself a Diaz fan in an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, and commented that he just didn’t understand the actions of the commission.

“The Nick Diaz situation … is absolutely ridiculous,” McGregor said. “I can’t wrap my head around that whole situation.

“I wish him well. I’ve always been a big fan of Nick and his style of fighting. it would be a sad day Nick doesn’t lace up the gloves again and won’t make that Octagon walk.”

Penick’s Analysis: It’s an almost universal take right now that the Nevada commission acted outside of their purview, and as such highly overstepped their bounds. Now, that unfortunately doesn’t guarantee anything will change for Diaz’s current predicament, but the more vocal the rest of the MMA world becomes, the more chance there is of them being heard and something at least possibly being done to rectify this travesty.
