“Good conversation like it always is. We have a good relationship. It is what it is. It happens. This is the fight game. Sometimes emotions get into it. But it’s important to recognize that emotions have no place in business. That’s essentially what it was last night. We just set it aside. There’s no place for emotions in this. We are doing beautiful things. So let’s continue. Let’s fix it and let’s continue.”

Penick’s Analysis: Sounds like we’ll have something put together for McGregor here soon, perhaps as soon as this weekend or next to get him on the schedule once again. I think the previously reported August 20 date makes sense for the Nate Diaz rematch still, and I don’t think they’re going to have him continue to sit on the sidelines until the Jose Aldo-Frankie Edgar winner is ready to go. The timeline still works to have him fight in New York against that winner, especially if it’s Edgar, if they book the Diaz fight in August. Still, until we get an announcement we won’t know for sure. Regardless, fences are being mended.
