There were no events this past weekend because of Memorial Day. I hope everyone had a good weekend and a chance to remember the brave men and
women in the military who sacrificed everything for us. There’s not a lot going on but I’ll touch upon some quick MMA news. Sorry it’s so short this week.
UFC Bantamweight Champion Merab Dvalishvili (19-4) is scheduled to
defend his title against Sean O’Malley (18-2, 1 NC) on June 7, 2025 at
UFC 316. However, Dvalishvili has suffered a broken pinkie toe on his
right foot. He’s joked about cutting it off but is likely trolling about that. I don’t imagine this causes him to get pulled from the
fight, given his previous history and the lackadaisical approach to
injuries the commissions usually have.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones (28-1, 1 NC) continues to mess
around instead of actually fighting. Interim UFC Heavyweight Champion
Tom Aspinall (15-3) has been waiting around for a unification fight
with Jones but Jones apparently doesn’t want to do it or is angling for more money. Or something else, I’m not sure.
Jones recently told Aspinall to shut up and quit complaining. I think
that’s absurd but it seems that Aspinall’s calls for a fight, any fight (not necessarily against Jones) are falling on deaf ears.
There’s a petition going around with over 30,000+ signatures on it calling for Jones to be stripped of the UFC Heavyweight Championship
but that’s not going to happen if the UFC thinks there’s big money in
a Jones fight. Never mind that consistent paydays are better than a
single (potential) big one.
It can be hard to see or think logically when you have money signs in your eyes.
It would be nice if the UFC did the responsible thing but I guess
that’s asking too much when it comes to a guy like Jones.
My new epic fantasy book is out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: The End’s
Beginning. The exciting epic fantasy series Kingdom of Zarias
returns with the 4th book in the series. After the harrowing events of
Book 3 the residents of the Kingdom of Zarias continue on their paths.
Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately
seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life.
Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to
just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to
join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and
Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new
ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace.
However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence, the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the
world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action,
magic, and monsters in the Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop
game in novel form. It’s on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other
places. If you’re interested, I would greatly appreciate it if you
would check it out and support me.Thank you very much, have a good
day.
