Who wins Saturday’s Anderson Silva vs. Jared Cannonier fight?

I haven’t seen anything out of Jared Cannonier to suggest he should be able to land anything significant on Anderson Silva, one of Cannonier’s last two fights ended badly for him. This is a great fight for Silva to gain some traction, maybe he’ll gain enough momentum to get a title shot at some point. Silva and Aldo are in the same boat, let’s see who falls off first.

I’m going with Cannonier by decision. We’ve seen Silva declining over the years and this is Cannonier’s chance to get a big win. Yeah, a win over Silva doesn’t mean what it once would have, but it’s still something to shoot for, especially for a guy like Cannonier. It’s his time to step up and get the win. I don’t think he finishes Silva, but he should beat him.

Cannonier. He looked like a killer in his first 185 fight. Anderson Silva has turned into a stepping stone apparently and I hate to see it.

As much as it pains me, I have to go with Jared Cannonier here. He looked like a completely different fighter in his destruction of David Branch at UFC 230. We’ve seen flashes of brilliance from Anderson Silva in recent fights, including very recently against Israel Adesanya, but Silva hasn’t looked truly Silva-like since when? When he fought Stephan Bonnar in 2012? I think Cannonier will be able to grind out a decision win and this may be the last we see of Anderson Silva.
