Who wins Saturday’s UFC st. Petersburg main event between Alistair Overeem and Aleksei Oleinik?

I gotta go Oleinik. For most likely one of the first times in Overeem’s UFC career, he fights someone with more experience than him. That being said, I don’t pick Oleinik because of experience. Overeem has a hard time against ground fighters, and if Oleinik could get it and make someone like Mark hunt tap, then he can do it to Overeem. I see a 1st round victory for Oleinik by choke. Overeem has a shot of course with the cannons he has, but I just can’t bet against Oleinik.

I’ll go with Overeem by TKO in the second round. I think he plays a little bit of a spoiler here and we get a fairly exciting fight. I think it might get a little sloppy but Overeem has enough to turn out the lights of Oleinik. I think Overeem summons it up one time and gets a bit knockout win.

I have to go with Overeem here. It was easy to write him off after that nasty knockout loss to Francis Ngannou but he’s recovered nicely from that and has looked good with only the Curtis Blaydes fight as a speed bump. I don’t see Overeem getting caught in an Ezekiel Choke, as much as some of us would like to see that. I’m going to go with Frank and call for a second-round knockout win for Overeem.
