What is your favorite fight or moment from UFC’s first 25 years?

I would say my favorite fight/moment has to be everything that Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov was. The fight was won in every way by Khabib and Conor had nothing to counter-attack with. After the fight, after Conor tapped like a chump, Khabib wasn’t done and took the ultimate stand. I think some of the stuff went to little too far obviously but it doesn’t get any better than that in a sport where two men beat the crap out of each other for money and dominance.

I’ll go with the easy answer and say Forrest Griffin vs. Stephan Bonnar from The Ultimate Fighter Finale 1 card. That was the fight that got so many people interested in the sport at a time it needed it, and it was a really fun fight. It was two guys laying it all on the line and using every bit of energy they could to try to get the win. It wasn’t the most technical of fights but it didn’t need to be, it just needed to be exciting and it absolutely was.

My absolute favorite UFC moment was when Chris Weidman knocked out Anderson Silva at UFC 162. Having rewatched that fight and moment many times over the last five years, you can see it coming, and you could that night as well. But even though you could tell that Silva was being reckless, at that time he seemed so invincible that it didn’t matter. I remember when Silva was mocking Weidman, right before Weidman clocked him I said, “One day someone’s going to catch him.” One day turned out to be that day, and I’ll never forget it.

I can’t stand Mcgregor. But to suggest that Nurmagomedov is anything more than a thug after his “ultimate stand” is one of the most reductive and idiotic thibgs i’ve ever seen written on this site.
