Outside of the UFC 205 main event, what fight are you most looking forward to at UFC 205 and why?

Outside of the main event, I’m most looking forward to the Tyron Woodley and”Wonderboy” Stephen Thompson fight. Woodley is an incredible athlete, but I do believe “Wonderboy” is the uncrowned champ. His striking is so fast, so technical, and so accurate that outside of a quick blitz and one shot from Woodley that I just don’t see how he can win. Stephen Thompson knows good and well what to expect and his control of distance and timing is a work of art. Expect to hear, “Aaannnndddd Nnnnnneeewww…”
Chris Weidman vs. Yoel Romero is a very close second as well. With Frankie Edgar vs. Jeremy Stevens and Khabib Murmagomdeov vs. Michael Johnson right up there as well. 205 is stellar top to bottom honestly.

I’m very intrigued by the pay-per-view opener between Miesha Tate and Raquel Pennington. Tate wasn’t at her best against Amanda Nunes at UFC 200 and she also had a difficult weight cut, so it will be interesting to see how she bounces back from that. Pennington has been on a good run of her own since losing a close decision to Holly Holm in 2015. There is also the dynamic of Tate being Pennington’s coach on The Ultimate Fighter. The story of the pupil teaching the instructor a lesson can make for great drama. Often when fighters who are friendly with each other fight each other, the fight can be a bit boring as some of the aggression seems to be lost, but both women have something to prove on a big stage, so I’m anticipating a good scrap.

I am really excited to see Tim Kennedy fight again. I think he was one of the most underrated Middleweights of his era and due to his commitment to our country he did not get the respect he deserved. It also helps he is taking on former Light Heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, who is making his debut at 185 lbs. With the Middleweight Division being as chaotic as it is, I feel like this fight could almost be a top contender fight or at least thrust the winner into the spotlight and maybe be a win away from a title shot. Look for a very close decision to decide the fate of this fight.
