UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs. Erceg was this past weekend and featured some exciting fights and finishes. Who won and who lost? Let’s get to
the rundown.

UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs. Erceg
GOOD- Ronaldo Rodriguez vs. Kevin Borjas
They start off throwing kicks early. Borjas drops Rodriguez with a big
punch but Rodriguez spins backward up to his feet. They strike a bit
more then Borjas drops his opponent again but Rodriguez gets a takedown before the first round ends. The second round begins with
more striking exchanges. Borjas is still the aggressor and lands more
powerful strikes before the second round ends. The third round starts
with more fast striking exchanges that continue until the fight ends.
We go to the judges to render their verdict.
Borjas wins the decision to improve to 10-3 while Rodriguez drops to
17-3 and has his 7 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Borjas.

GOOD- David Martinez stops Saimon Oliveira
They’re exchanging strikes early, with Martinez throwing and landing a
lot more often. Oliveira isn’t having much success with his kicks and
Martinez smashes him with a powerful right hand that staggers him and
opens him up to a huge knee that drops Oliveira. Martinez jumps on him
and pounds on him until the referee is forced to jump in to stop the
fight a little over four and a half minutes into the first round.
Martinez improves to 12-1 and has won 8 straight fights while Oliveira drops to 18-6 and has lost 3 straight fights. Good win for Martinez.

GOOD- Raul Rosas Jr. vs. Vince Morales
Rosas gets an early takedown but they grapple for the rest of the first round. The second round begins with some striking exchanges
until Rosas gets a takedown and they grapple for the rest of the second round. The third round is a repeat of the previous rounds. Some
good grappling that Rosas is in more control of. The fight ends so we
go to the judges to render their verdict.
Rosas Jr. wins the decision to improve to 11-1 and has won 4 straight fights while Morales drops to 16-10 and has lost 3 straight fights.
Good win for Rosas Jr.

GOOD- Edgar Chairez submits C.J. Vergara
They’re exchanging strikes early, with Chairez being the aggressor.
Chairez drops Vergara momentarily with a left hook. Vergara is back up
quickly but Chairez jumps on his back and locks in a rear-naked choke
on Vergara’s jaw. Chairez squeezes and gets the submission via face
crank halfway through the first round.
Chairez improves to 12-6 with 1 No Contest while Vergara drops to 12-7-1 and has lost 3 straight fights. Good win for Chairez.

GOOD- Manuel Torres stops Drew Dober
Torres comes out of the gate firing away with strikes, including a big
right hand that drops Dober. Torres sashes Dober with repeated
hammerfists that force the referee to jump in to stop the fight just over a hundred seconds into the fight.
Torres improves to 16-3 while Dober drops to 27-15 with 1 No Contest
and has lost 3 straight fights. Good win for Torres.

GOOD- Brandon Moreno vs. Steve Erceg
As expected, strikes are thrown early and often in the first round.
Moreno staggers Erceg at one point and they continue exchanging until
the first round ends. The second round begins with more of the same.
Erceg is connecting more but Moreno is doing more damage. The third round starts with yet more of the same and it doesn’t take a psychic
to know what’s going to happen when this fight reaches the later rounds. Yet, the UFC insists on making these non-title fights five
rounds. Anyway, moving on.
The fourth round opens with more striking exchanges. Erceg hurts Moreno with a kick to the stomach but Moreno probably won this round also. The fifth round commences with Moreno showing his incredible
movement to avoid any damage from Erceg’s striking attempts. Things
continue as they had before, with both men throwing and landing good
strikes but Moreno doing more damage with his. The fight ends so we go
to the judges to render their verdict.
Moreno wins the decision to improve to 23-8-2 while Erceg drops to
12-4 and has lost 3 straight fights. Good win for Moreno.

Former Bellator Heavyweight and Light Heavyweight Champion Ryan Bader
(31-8, 1 No Contest) and the PFL have parted ways.
Bader holds wins over Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Rashad Evans, Phil
Davis, Lyoto Machida, and Fedor Emelianenko (twice, both by Knockout).
Bader’s had a heck of a career. It’s unclear what will come next for Bader but I wish him well in whatever he does in the future.

My new epic fantasy book is out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: The End’s
Beginning
. The exciting epic fantasy series Kingdom of Zarias
returns with the 4th book in the series. After the harrowing events of Book 3 the residents of the Kingdom of Zarias continue on their paths.
Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately
seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life.
Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to
just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to
join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and
Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace.
However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence,
the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the
world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action, magic, and monsters in the Kingdom of Zarias. It’s like a tabletop
game in novel form. It’s on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and many other places. If you’re interested, I would greatly appreciate it if you
would check it out and support me. Also, here’s the link to my
Compendium book about the Kingdom of Zarias series- KoZ Compendium Thank you
