UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Buckley was this past weekend and it
featured multiple exciting fights and finishes. Who won and who lost?
Let’s get to the rundown.

UFC Fight Night: Covington vs. Buckley
GOOD- Navajo Stirling vs. George “Tuco” Tokkos
They start off with leg kicks before mixing in jabs. Stirling is
scoring more with his leg kicks and jabs. Stirling nails Tokkos with a
kick to the body, a knee, then an uppercut that drops Tokkos. Stirling lets him up and the first round ends. The second round begins with Tokkos getting a takedown but Stirling is quickly back up. Stirling
lands a knee and a big elbow that hurts Tokkos again. However, Tokkos responds with another takedown. Stirling gets up and the second round
ends. The third round starts with a lot of fighting in the clinch
before Stirling starts landing kicks. Stirling hurts Tokkos a few
different times with kicks and the fight ends. We go to the judges to
render their verdict.
Stirling wins the decision to stay undefeated at a perfect 6-0 while Tokkos drops to 10-5. Good win for Stirling.

GOOD- Adrian Yanez vs. Daniel Marcos
They start off trading strikes before Marcos hurts Yanez with a big right hand. Marcos manages to eyepoke Yanez at the same time that he
low blows him also. JFC. They restart and trade more strikes until the first round ends. The second round begins with Yanez landing some powerful punches that hurt Marcos, who fires back by attacking the
body. They’re both doing good damage but it seems Yanez is landing a bit more before the second round ends. The third round starts with the fighters exchanging bombs. Marcos gets a takedown but Yanez is able to
work his way back to his feet. Marcos gets another takedown and it takes Yanez a little longer to get up this time. They empty the tank with some strikes and the fight ends. We go to the judges to render
their verdict.

Marcos wins the Split Decision to improve to a nearly unblemished 17-0
with 1 No Contest while Yanez drops to 17-6. Good win for Marcos, though maybe this should be a majority draw given the double foul in the first round?

GOOD- Dustin Jacoby stops Vitor Petrino
Jacoby mainly lands leg kicks while Petrino mostly works his jab in a quiet first round. The second round begins with immediate action as
both men exchange strikes. Petrino hurts Jacoby but can’t capitalize
as Jacoby avoids danger and the second round ends. The third round starts with aggression but neither fighter wants to make a big mistake
so the action is minimal. Petrino hits a running knee to Jacoby that he just takes shortly before Jacoby responds with a huge right hand
that knocks Petrino out and ends the fight a little over three and a half minutes into the third round.
Jacoby improves to 20-9-1 while Petrino drops to 11-2. Good win for Jacoby.

GOOD- Manel Kape stops Bruno Silva
Kape looks quick as they exchange strikes to begin the fight. Silva keeps getting popped after throwing out leg kicks. Kape gets low-blowed two separate times but no points are taken. What the heck
is that, ref? The first round ends.

The second round begins with some big hooks by Kape. Silva hits Kape down low again and finally a point is taken. Kape begins clowning Silva and taunts him for the rest of the second round. The third round starts with Silva swinging for the fences but Kape uses combinations to attack the body. Kape lands a big kick to the body that hurts Silva and follows up with repeated punches that drop Silva and force the referee to stop the fight not quite two minutes into the third round.

Kape improves to 20-7 while Silva drops to 14-6-2 with 1 No Contest and has his 4 fight winning streak snapped. Good win for Kape.

GOOD- Cub Swanson stops Billy Quarantillo
They’re trading strikes early before both hurting the other with
powerful punches. Quarantillo is hurt but continues fighting and hurts
Swanson the other way and gets a takedown as the first round ends.

The second round begins with Swanson hurting Quarantillo, who responds
with a takedown attempt that he can’t complete. Quarantillo keeps fighting and now he’s hurt Swanson before getting a takedown. They’re up and down again before the second round ends. The third round starts
with more fast-paced action as the fighters trade strikes. Swanson lands a huge combination that drops Quarantillo and ends the fight a bit over a minute and a half into the third round.
Swanson improves to 30-14 while Quarantillo drops to 18-7. Good win for Swanson.

GOOD- Joaquin Buckley stops Colby Covington
Covington works his jab early but can’t get the takedown. Buckley is
having success with his striking but so is Covington, as his jab is
keeping Buckley from causing him too much damage. As I write that Buckley drops Covington as the first round ends. Well, maybe it was a slip as it looks that way on replay.

The second round begins with
Buckley nailing Covington with repeated strikes to the body. Covington finally gets a takedown but Buckley is able to work his way back to his feet. Buckley continues attacking Covington until the second round
ends. The third round starts with some striking exchanges before Covington goes for a takedown that Buckley reverses to land on top.
Covington gets up and Buckley continues battering him. Covington is a bloody mess now. Covington is showing heart but Buckley is dominating
him and after some more scrambling the fight is paused so the cageside doctor can look at Covington’s eye. She calls the fight off with less than twenty seconds to go in the third round.
Buckley improves to 21-6 and has won 6 straight fights while Covington drops to 17-5. Good win for Buckley.

My new epic fantasy book is out. It’s called Kingdom of Zarias: The End’s Beginning. The exciting epic fantasy series Kingdom of Zarias returns with the 4th book in the series. After the harrowing events of
Book 3 the residents of the Kingdom of Zarias continue on their paths.
Serena Summers continues to learn and grow as a fighter, desperately seeking to become stronger before she loses anyone else in her life.
Daniel Summers discovers new parts of the world that open his eyes to
just how little he truly knows. A new hero, Lamar Abeers, arrives to join the fight against evil. Plus, Zach Summers, Tiana Highsmith, and Xavien Ekens continue their journeys with their friends, and a new ruler of Vhaharen is crowned. The world has found a little peace.
However, that peace is only temporary. In a shocking act of violence,
the monstrous villain Galren strikes from the shadows and changes the
world forever. This is Book 4 in the series. There’s lots of action,
