At UFC 241, Daniel Cormier will defend his heavyweight title against former champion Stipe Miocic. Who wins?

I’ll go with Cormier. I don’t think anything much has changed so I can’t think that the outcome is going to be much different. I like Miocic as a fighter but the only person that’s ever beaten Cormier is Jon Jones, and who knows if that was a clean win? Cormier is one of the best fighters in the world. Miocic’s in that category as well, but again it goes back to their first meeting. There’s no way to tell how much has changed so I’m going with Cormier to win by decision.

I’m going with Daniel Cormier. I may have picked Stipe before but I really don’t see Stipe staying focused enough to execute a solid gameplan. Stipe could finish Cormier early but I just don’t see it. However, if that were to happen Daniel Cormier would call it a career right then and there. I presume he is done with fighting either way. The outcome of this match is just a formality because this is his farewell fight unless he gets some sort of fluke injury and loses via TKO.

I think that Stipe Miocic is going to fight a smarter fight this time around but I don’t think that the result is going to be very different. I expect Miocic to lay back a bit and use his distance and reach rather than engaging with Cormier in the clinch now that he’s felt the champ’s power. Nonetheless, I expect Cormier to be able to close the distance as the fight goes on and will eventually score a TKO in the fourth round.

Aside from having the skill and being undefeated at heavyweight, Daniel Cormier’s unmatched competitiveness and drive is why I believe he will win the fight. It’s why he’s at the top of his game. There’s no way that he can have a more convincing win than the one he had in his first fight against Stipe. That being said, I believe it will go the distance and he will get the unanimous decision victory. If it seemed like Miocic was getting the better of Cormier in the first round of their first fight, it was because that was Cormier’s opportunity to figure him out. Having done that already, Cormier can come in ready to execute his game plan. People choosing Miocic this time around wouldn’t be wrong due to the fact that after a year off, he is coming back more motivated and healthier. But in order for him to be victorious, he is going to have to use his reach to his advantage and control the pace, because if he doesn’t, Cormier will outwrestle him and outstrike him.
