Aviv Gozali def. Travis Crain via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) Round 1

Cass Bell vs. Peter Ishiguro (Catchweight/140)

Round 1: Bell is the much longer fighter and Ishiguro will have to figure out how to deal with the distance. Bell connects with a slick kick to the midsection. Ishiguro has a body lock and he scores with a takedown. Bell is up but Ishiguro takes him down again. They scramble and Bell makes his way back to his feet. Ishiguro shoots again but Bell sprawls this time. Ishiguro is relentless though and manages to complete the takedown. He is now working from side control. Bell recovers a half guard and uses it to sweep Ishiguro. They scramble again and we’re back in the center of the octagon. Bell shoots and completes a takedown with 30 seconds left in the round. They scramble and Ishiguro ends up with Bell’s back as the round ends. (10-9 Ishiguro)

Round 2: Bell connects with a solid left hand to open things up in the second round. Ishiguro completes a double leg but Bell isn’t letting him have it easy. Bell scrambles to his feet and charges forward with several big punches! Ishiguro changes levels and eats a knee! He’s down and Bell earns the stoppage victory!

Bruno Casillas vs. Chuck Campbell (Light-heavyweight)

Round 1: Casillas is looking to get inside early. Campbell has a big reach advantage. Campbell connects with a big knee and Casillas is out cold!

Josh San Diego def. Brandon Laroco via Unanimous Decision

Diego Herzog vs. Jordan Williams (Middleweight)

Round 1: Herzog is opening up early with low kicks. Herzog connects with a grazing Headkick. Williams seems a bit like a deer in headlights early in the round. Williams scores with a takedown but Herzog scrambles back to his feet and lands a few good shots. 10-9 Herzog

Round 2: Williams has a body lock early in the round. Williams is moving forward and landing. Herzog appears to be tiring a bit and he’s starting to throw looping punches and they’re missing badly. Williams connects with a jab and a straight right hand! Williams connects with a short-left hook! (10-9 Williams)

Round 3: Williams lands a few shots to get things going. He takes Herzog down but can’t keep him there. Williams is keeping the pressure up though and its clear that Herzog is fading. Williams connects with a right, a left, and then several more shots and this fight is over!

Result: Jordan Williams def. Diego Herzog via TKO (Punches) Round 1, 1:21

Main Card

Nathan Stolen vs. Gaston Bolanos (Featherweight)

Round 1: Bolanos connects with a nice combination to get things going. Stolen is looking for a takedown but Bolanos is defending. Stolen secures a body lock and suplex Bolanos to the ground. Bolanos is up and he connects with a huge left hook! Stolen is down and Bolanos hits him one or two more times but this fight is over!

Result: Gaston Bolanos def. Nathan Stolen via KO (Punch) Round 1, 2:21

Liam McGeary vs. Phil Davis (Light-heavyweight)

Round 1: McGeary is landing inside leg kicks early in the round. Davis connects with a 1-2. Superman punch attempt by McGeary. Both guys are just settling for single shots and neither it having a ton of success. McGeary connects with a kick to the midsection as the round ends. Very slow round but I guess the main takeaway is that McGeary was able to stay on his feet. (10-9 Davis)

Round 2: Davis is targeting the lead leg of McGeary. Short left hook lands for the Brit. McGeary just can’t set anything up. Davis is a bit quicker but it’s making all the difference. Davis connects with a nice right hand. McGeary connects with a jab and Davis returns a right hand as the round comes to a close. Very slow fight. Davis is controlling things for the most part and he’s using his low kicks well. (10-9 Davis)

Round 3: Davis scores early in the round with his first takedown of the night. McGeary is turtled up and taking some heavy shots from Phil Davis. McGeary is rolling for a leg but Davis is rolling with him and maintaining control. Davis is starting to add elbows into the equation. They scramble and Davis connects with a front kick to the face! Davis has a body lock and he scores with a knee as McGeary looks for separation. McGeary connects with a big right hand! Davis takes him down though and moves right into mount! Davis is unloading with a flurry of punches and it’s all over! That fight got a lot more exciting in the third round. Davis looked like an animal and only got better as the fight went on. He is now 2-0 against McGeary.

Result: Phil Davis def. Liam McGeary via TKO (Punches) Round 3, 4:11

Ben Henderson vs. Adam Piccolotti (Lightweight)

Round 1: Piccolotti has a clinch early in the round and he’s looking for a takedown against the fence. Piccolotti is working hard for a takedown and he completes it. Piccolotti takes the back with two hooks in place. Piccolotti has a rear naked choke but he’s being a bit sloppy with it. Henderson stands but Piccolotti is still on his back. Henderson drops to his back; it doesn’t break the body lock but Piccolotti does not have the choke. Henderson is fighting for wrist control and with it he is not in any danger. Piccolotti transitions to the arm triangle but Henderson scrambles out of it and they are back on the feet. Henderson connects with a head kick to end the round! (10-9 Piccolotti)

Round 2: Henderson connects with a flying knee to get things going! Piccolotti drops for a single leg and nearly completes it. Henderson is up though, and clearly very flexible. Henderson scores with a takedown of his own. Henderson has the back and he is landing some punches from that position. Piccolotti is attacking with a heel hook but Henderson appears to be okay. Henderson is free and back in top position. (10-9 Henderson)

Round 3: Piccolotti scores with a quick takedown but falls right into a guillotine choke. He escapes and he’s now working from side control. Piccolotti takes the back but Henderson spins around and he’s now in top position. Henderson is landing a few shots in the final seconds of the round. Great round and great fight. Piccolotti showed great wrestling but Henderson showed his experience and athletic ability. (10-9 Henderson) (29-28 Henderson) Could go either way but I think that Henderson did enough to edge this one.

(C) Ilima Lei Macfarlane vs. Veta Arteaga (Bellator Flyweight Championship)

Round 1: Macfarlane is working hard for a takedown. She completes it and sets two hooks. Arteaga scrambles out of the position but Macfarlane is reaching for a leg. Arteaga is attacking the body with punches as Macfarlane focuses on the foot. Arteaga stands up with her foot still in danger. Arteaga ends up with head control and lands a few shots to the body as the round ends. Lots of grappling and fence fighting. Arteaga is certainly a worthy challenger. (10-9 Macfarlane)

Round 2: Macfarlane takes Arteaga down to start the round. Arteaga is up and they are back in the center. Lots of wrestling here so far. Macfarlane scores with another takedown and she is working from top position while sitting in Arteaga’s guard. (10-9 Macfarlane)

Round 3: Macfarlane is looking for a takedown to start things off. Arteaga recovers guard but MacFarlane cracks her with a big shot! Arteaga is busted open badly near her hairline. She scrambles to her feet but MacFarlane stays with her. We see a break in the action as the doctor takes a look at the cut. And it’s over… Wow… didn’t expect that but the cut was pretty bad.

© Rory MacDonald vs. Jon Fitch for Bellator Welterweight Championship (Bellator WW Grand Prix Round 1)

Round 1: MacDonald connects with a right hand right out of the gate! Fitch eats it though and shoots for a single! MacDonald is down with Fitch working hard to get to top position. MacDonald is back up and threatening with a kimura against the fence! MacDonald separates and lands a clean left hand. Fitch shoots again but this time MacDonald sprawls and stays out of danger. MacDonald scores with the right hand again. Fitch is just a stationary target right now. MacDonald misses with a jab and Fitch scores with a single leg! Fitch is now working from top position. (10-9 MacDonald)

Round 2: Fitch moves in for a takedown but MacDonald stays up with the aid of the fence. Fitch completes the takedown despite MacDonald holding the fence. He’s been warned twice now. MacDonald is up and scores with a high kick and then a front kick to the body. Fitch connects with a right hand but MacDonald is zeroed in. Fitch has got to get out of range or its only a matter of time. Fitch completes a takedown with just under a minute left in the round. They are briefly back on the feet but MacDonald takes things back to the ground with 20 seconds left in the round. (10-9 MacDonald)

Round 3: Fitch shoots early but MacDonald steps out of it. Fitch keeps moving and does complete a takedown this time. MacDonald has a butterfly guard in place but Fitch is landing short shots from the top position and he is certainly winning this round. Fitch is like a blanket and MacDonald is really struggling with it in this round. (10-9 Fitch)

Round 4: Fitch is looking for a takedown early but MacDonald ends up with the dominant position. Fitch is up be he eats a few hard shots for his effort. He’s looking for a single but MacDonald is defending so far. They scramble again and Fitch ends up in top side control… he just works… no quit in Jon Fitch. Fitch is controlling the round. The ref stands them up with under 10 seconds remaining. (10-9 Fitch)

Round 5: Fitch lands a few short jabs to start the round. They appeared to clash heads as Fitch shot in for a takedown but neither guy appears to be affected. Fitch is in top position but MacDonald has a triangle from his back! Its hard to tell how tight this is but Fitch appears to be in a bit of trouble. The triangle has loosened and Fitch is back to controlling from the top. Fitch is working from half guard, landing punches to the head and body. (10-9 Fitch) (48-47 Fitch) It was a close fight and it will depend on how the judges view the takedowns. The 4th round is in question in my opinion. MacDonald did far more damage but Fitch grinded as he often does.

Result: Rory MacDonald and Jon Fitch fight to a Majority DRAW

Rory MacDonald will advance and retain his title based on being the champion. You have to beat the champ to be the champ as they say. He will advance to face Neiman Gracie for a shot at the finals.
