Bellator travels across the pond to the Utilita Arena in Newcastle, Tyne and Wear, England for Bellator Newcastle. In the main event Bellator veteran Patricky “Pitbull” Freire takes on England’s Ryan Scope. After getting stopped by Michael Chandler at Bellator 157, Freire has won his last four fights. The four-fight win streak includes wins over Josh Thomson and Benson Henderson. In the Brazilian’s twenty professional wins, thirteen are by way of (T)KO to go along with one via submission.
Twenty-six-year-old Ryan Scope will be making his Bellator debut when he steps into the cage opposite Freire. Scope is 1-1 over his last two fights. His most recent fight was at BAMMA 33 where he took a split decision over Mickael Lebout. Fighting out of Sunderland Fight Pit, Scope has eight finishes in his ten career pro wins.
In the co-main, Aaron Chalmers takes on Corey Browning. This will Chalmers’s second fight under the Bellator banner. He won his debut with a first round sub of Ash Griffiths at Bellator 200. Chalmers has a professional record of 4-0. He has yet to see the second round. Corey Browning will also be making his second walk for Bellator. Browning won his debut by finishing Kevin Ferguson Jr. at Bellator 207. All three of the American’s wins ended inside the distance.
The four-fight main card also includes Terry Brazier against Bungard and Fabian Edwards vs. Lee Chadwick.
