Demetrious Johnson, Jens Pulver & Angela Hill to compete in major video games tournament

Daybreak Games is returning to TwitchCon at the Long Beach Convention Center (Oct. 20-22) to kick off the H1Z1 Invitational, the most-watched event at TwitchCon since its debut in 2015, which this year features an overall prize pool of $500,000. This year, Daybreak is proud to announce that MMA fighters Demetrious Johnson (Mighty Mouse), Jens Pulver and Angela Hill are joining the fray and will be competing in the All-Stars tournament on Saturday, Oct. 21 for a shot at the $200,000 prize pool.

WHAT: As TwitchCon’s premier esports event, this year’s H1Z1 Invitational is bigger than ever, with a combined $500,000 prize pool across three tournaments of 75 competitors apiece:

 

  • The All-Stars tournament($200,000 prize pool): Three rounds featuring some of the most electrifying streamers, content creators, MMA fighters, and personalities from around the globe, including summit1gMrGrimmmzDrDisRespect, and many more!
  • The Legends tournament($250,000 prize pool): Three rounds drawing from some of the world’s best H1Z1 players, including defending champs inboxes and radek, as well as relentless rivals like NinjaFlamehopper, and Stormen.
  • TheChallengers Invitational ($50,000 prize pool): A series of seven first-come, first-served qualifying matches all builds up to a riveting finale with the top ten players from each game, as well as the three Road to TwitchCon winners from gamescom, PAX and TGS plus two #ChallengeAccepted winners.

 

WHEN:

  • Saturday, Oct. 21 — All-Stars: Begins at 2 p.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 22 — Legends: Begins at 11:30 a.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 22 — Challengers: Begins at 3:00 p.m.
