Who wins the Tony Ferguson vs. Kevin Lee fight and why?

I will start off by saying that I am perhaps a bit biased. For whatever reason Tony Ferguson just rubs me the wrong way, and while I was a fan of him during his time on the ultimate fighter those days have long passed. With that being said, I think this is going to be an easy fight for him, and that’s in no way meant to disrespect Kevin Lee. I think Lee is a top ten fighter, but I haven’t seen anything to make me think he is top 5. Now he is a great athlete, and a talented wrestler and submission grappler, but he needs to improve in the striking department and I think that is where Ferguson beats him up, before eventually submitting him sometime in the later rounds.

Kevin Lee is dangerous, but I think Ferguson wins by TKO in the 2nd round. Ferguson has been tremendous, and should have been in a title fight long ago. He’s shown great ability in many areas and has been deserving of this spot for a long time. Lee’s tough, but Ferguson is one of the best lightweights in the world. They’re both very confident, but I think Ferguson prevails here.

I understand he’s the underdog and I full grasp just how hot Tony Ferguson has been in his last few fights. That said, I’m just seeing something out of Lee throughout the last month that tells me he’s dying to take the next step in his career. It’s clear he has a chip on his shoulder and that he plans on squeezing the life out of this opportunity. I think that chip and passion will further display itself when he gets into the octagon on Saturday. Further, Lee is younger and has a style that can match and counter Ferguson’s well. It’s a gut feeling and a long shot, but I’m going with Kevin Lee via decision.
