The Panel at FS1 make their predictions for Mayweather vs. McGregor
Kenny Florian’s prediction: “If there’s one guy who can do it, it’s Conor McGregor, with all his self-belief and being the larger guy. But I can’t go against the guy who’s 49-0, He’s faced so many guys and has so much experience. I’d love to see Conor do the impossible, but I think Floyd wins by decision.”
Daniel Jacobs’ prediction: “You have to be real. He’s dominated this sport for so long. Floyd will win.”
Tyron Woodley’s prediction: “As the betting man, I’m going with Conor. But the mind is going with Mayweather. The guy has been too invincible.”
Germaine de Randamie out of UFC Fight Night 115
Former UFC Women’s Featherweight Champion Germaine de Randamie was set to return to action at UFC Fight Night 115 against Marion Reneau, but a lingering hand injury has forced her to withdraw. This would have been a good opportunity for de Randamie to put her recent title drama behind her, but instead she will have to wait a bit longer. The UFC is apparently looking for another opponent for Reneau who will be looking for her second straight win. She is one of the good stories in MMA. She is PE teacher by day and a fighter by night, so hopefully they can find her an opponent on short notice.
Mayweather and McGregor weigh-ins
Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor made it official tonight when they both weighed in for their heavily anticipated boxing match. McGregor weighed in at 153, just two pounds under the UFC lightweight limit. Floyd Mayweather showed up a bit lighter at 149.5 pounds.
Dana White refuses to commit to Lee/Ferguson winner fighting McGregor
We have an interim UFC lightweight championship fight coming up, and Dana White is already reminding us that the belt just doesn’t mean a thing. When asked if the winner of the upcoming Tony Ferguson vs. Kevin Lee fight would face Conor McGregor when he returns to MMA, White was non-committal saying that he has only focused on the MayMac fight and will think about the future when the time comes. White has stated that McGregor wants to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov, and the idea of a trilogy fight with Nate Diaz always seems to come up. With those options on the table it’s clear that White doesn’t want to commit to anything.
