Following a hard-fought victory over Rampage Jackson last night at Bellator 175, King Mo Lawal didn’t have long to celebrate. Bellator’s latest signing, Ryan Bader, was quick to greet him, and it was announced that the two will compete on Bellator’s upcoming card at Madison Square Garden. This seems like a logical fight, one that could possibly serve as a title eliminator in what is somewhat of a shallow division.

Henry’s Analysis: This is a good fight for Bellator, and for the 205 division in general. It will give Mo a chance to show where he is at this point in his career against a proven top ten fighter in Ryan Bader. Mo didn’t have a great performance, despite the win, and after his previous match against Mirko CroCop, an impressive win over Bader would do wonders for King Mo at this point in his career. It also gives Bader a chance to make a strong first impression.

SATURDAY NOTEBOOK ITEMS…

•One Fighting wants to co-promote: It’s usually accepted that the best champions in the world are in the UFC, but One Championship President Chatri Sityodtong is willing to test that theory. Angela Lee, the One Championship Atomweight Champion, has been beating her opponents lately with ease, including a classic fight against former champion, Mei Yamaguchi. The UFC does not make a habit of co-promotion and, in fact, they seem to be entirely against it. Who can blame them? But still, this could be an interesting fight between two top fighters, and it’s one that I would like to see.

•Conor McGregor final opponent for GSP: Per the legendary boxing coach, GSP has his eyes set on the current Lightweight Champion and he would like to fight him to close out his career. Roach stated that GSP has a three-fight plan, starting with Bisping, and ending with Conor McGregor. This isn’t much of a surprise, as everybody wants this fight, but the difference is that GSP might just have enough sway to get it. First things first – GSP will need to get past Bisping, but a potential McGregor vs. GSP fight is an interesting thought.

•Other Tidbits: Rizin FF 5 will stream online April 16 for $14.99… Daniel Cormier stated that Anderson Silva was his easiest opponent…
