Jessica Andrade defeated Angela Hill via unanimous decision in an exciting bout that earned Fight of the Night honors.

Andrade told the press afterward that she was amazed by how tough Hill was and didn’t think she’d be able to withstand her strikes. “It was an incredible fight,” Andrade said. “I didn’t imagine that Angela would be able to take so many shots, and I was able to give it my best. I could have taken the fight to the ground. I could have submitted (her), but I wanted to strike. It was an incredible fight. I can only be thankful.”

She said by defeating Hill, she had become the new Invicta Champion and now wants to challenge Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the Strawweight Title. “I think by beating Angela today, I became Invicta champ,” Andrade said. “So I want to unify my belts. I want the opportunity to fight Joanna. Joanna, do you want a fight? I’m here. April, May, June – it doesn’t matter the date. I’m ready. I’ll fight you no matter what happens.”

Dana White has since confirmed that Andrade will face Jedrzeczyk for the Strawweight Title, but did not say when that fight would take place.

Cervantes Analysis: The fight was incredible and both fighters have to be commended for how much punishment they took. Andrade’s title shot was definitely well-earned after last night’s performance. I think it’s the fight that makes the most sense in the division and I think she’ll pose a real threat to the champion in their bout.
