Conor McGregor made history last night in becoming the third person to ever hold titles in multiple divisions and the only person to ever hold two titles simultaneously.

After weeks of speculation running rampant about his “bombshell announcement” post-UFC 205, McGregor finally addressed it at the post-fight press conference. “There’s a few bombshells I wanted to hit, but then it was like ‘do I do it or don’t do it?'” he said, before then going forward with announcing them. “One announcement, I’m going to be a daddy early next year,” McGregor said. “I’m crapping me jocks, I’m not going to lie. I don’t even know what way to take it.”

In addition to being a new father soon, McGregor demanded the UFC give him what he feels he has earned. “So where’s my share? Where’s my equity?” McGregor said. “If I’m the one that’s bringing this, they’ve got to come talk to me now, that’s all I know. I’ve got both belts, a chunk of money, a little family on the way. You want me to stick around, you want me to keep doing what I’m doing, let’s talk, but I want ownership. I want an equal share. I want what I deserve, what I’ve earned.”

McGregor broke many records last night and is aware of his leverage and he made that known. “Whoever runs this who [expletive] now has got to come to me and give me the real slice cause that’s what I’ve earned. I’ve earned this. Biggest gate. Biggest everything.”

With the victory McGregor improves to 21-3 and is now the Featherweight Champion and Lightweight Champion.

Cervantes Analysis: I picked Eddie Alvarez to win the fight weeks ago, but it looked like he never showed up. McGregor outclassed him on the feet, pushed forward, and effortlessly finished him in one of the most lopsided fights since Anderson Silva vs. Forrest Griffin. Although I picked Alvarez to win, I also said that it wouldn’t surprise me in the least to see McGregor find a way to pull this off because there’s something about his confidence and the way he believes in himself that makes you think twice before betting against him. As for his announcements, congratulations to him and his wife on the exciting news. Regarding the equity in the company, it would be unprecedented, but so has everything else he has done so this wouldn’t surprise me either.
