Michael Bisping and Chris Weidman had another back and forth on social media this week, leading to Weidman alleging PED use by Bisping, while Bisping fired back on UFC Tonight.
It began, as it often does, with Bisping responding to a comment from Weidman on Twitter, and things escalated from there.
.@bisping or is it because maybe u have the belt and I’m the number 1 contender. You forget who’s title shot you took? #runningman

@ChrisWeidmanUFC you never fail to make me smile. You’ll get yours, if and when you win a fight. Lots of injuries since usada though,Weird!😂

@bisping hah going hard trying to throw dirt on me. Your own teammates gave u up. “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones”.

@bisping and u forget I been fighting for titles since 2013 in Nevada getting randomly tested since then. #usada only effected ppl like u
— Chris Weidman (@ChrisWeidmanUFC) June 26, 2016
@bisping don’t worry.I’m done bullying you. It’s obvious ur trying to get a win. I’m not gonna keep picking on a guy who doesn’t wanna fight
— Chris Weidman (@ChrisWeidmanUFC) June 26, 2016
“This is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard of,” Bisping said Wednesday night. “Just because I beat Luke, who beat him, he thinks I must be on something. I’ve been tested more than anyone. I’ve never tested positive. You’re an intelligent guy, Chris. I didn’t take your title, I took it from Luke, who took it from you when he beat the daylights out of you.”
Penick’s Analysis: If Bisping ever got caught with something it would be as surprising as any possible drug test failure, regardless of Weidman insinuating otherwise. The back and forth continues to be pointless when that’s not the fight that’s going to happen next, but comments like those are always going to get a response from a guy like Bisping. Regardless, unless the matchup comes together down the line they’re throwing insults for nothing.
