Longtime light heavyweight veteran Ryan Jimmo has passed away at 34 years old, the victim of a fatal hit and run in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.

According to a report from BloodyElbow.com, citing multiple sources, Jimmo was involved in an alleged altercation in the parking lot of the H2O lounge, and as he walked away the suspects accelerated and ran him down before fleeing the scene.

Jimmo reportedly was transported to a hospital before he passed. Police are looking for a “dark-colored pickup truck with over-sized tires and clear tail lights.”

The nine year vet spent his last four years in the UFC, going 3-4 through seven fights before being released from the UFC last spring.

Penick’s Analysis: This is simply horrific and awful news, and we extend our condolences to the friends, family, and teammates of Jimmo, as well as all his fans and anyone else affected by this tragic incident. It’s hard to even come to terms with something like this, just as it was in a shockingly similar situation with Bellator’s Jordan Parsons earlier this year. This is a terrible, unfathomable situation, and hopefully the authorities in Edmonton find those responsible.
