Bellator

Eduardo Dantas regained the Bellator Bantamweight Championship last night in a rematch with Marcos Galvao. The two first fought in 2013, with then-champion Dantas retaining via second round knockout. This time around, Dantas was able to use his striking to swell Galvao’s eye shut and keep any offense from the former champ in check.

Bellator’s other main card results included Chidi Njokuani picking up a knockout victory over Thiago Jambo in the third round, a blood-soaked John Salter tapping Brandon Halsey via triangle choke, and Chris Honeycutt making a successful middleweight debut against Mikkel Parlo, winning via decision.

Meanwhile in World Series of Fighting, Blagoy Ivanov took a unanimous decision over Josh Copeland, retaining his Heavyweight Title in a surprisingly good five-round heavyweight fight. (Seriously, how common are good five-round heavyweight fights?) In “That Guy Fights in WSOF?” news, Jason High and John Howard both picked up victories. High looked to be in real trouble toward the end of round two until he landed a nasty left hand that stumbled Mike Ricci into the backpedal of death, which then led to High pounding him out shortly thereafter. Howard earned a unanimous decision over Michael Arrant. In other main card action, Sheymon Moraes defeated Luis Palomino via unanimous decision.
