Cris “Cyborg” Justino took a shot at Ronda Rousey on Sunday after she made a successful UFC debut at UFC 198 Saturday night in Brazil.
In a post on Facebook, Justino called Rousey out for a fight at UFC 205 at Madison Square Garden.
Penick’s Analysis: There aren’t a ton of reasons left to avoid booking this fight, outside of a general unwillingness from Rousey to take it. There are other fights she might rather have, and the UFC wants her back fighting for the title. She also may not even wind up returning in 2016; there’s no clear signs on when she’s returning, and though it’s been just generally expected she’d return by the New York card, that might not end up being the case. Regardless, as far as big money fights are concerned, Rousey-Cyborg is still up there, and if they can manage to convince Rousey to take a catchweight fight it’s something they should be giving serious consideration to booking.
