Georges St-Pierre is in talks with the UFC, but whether anything comes of it remains to be seen.

In two separate interviews on Tuesday, St-Pierre talked in vague terms about where things are between him and the organization, and though a return seems possible, he did hint at some potential hangups.

“I’m in good terms with the UFC,” St-Pierre said in an interview with TSN while attending a Toronto Raptors NBA game. “We’re talking, everything is possible but I don’t know right now. I can’t tell you everything. I have to keep some secrets.

“I am not able to tell you a scoop, if there is any news it is the UFC that will decide to release it,” he added in a an interview with French-Canadian site RDS (trancribed by Bloody Elbow). “I can say that I am on good terms with them. But we sometimes do not agree on some things.

“There are many things, but I won’t go into detail. My contract is very old. It was done even before Reebok entered the UFC, so there are several things that come into play.”

For months the discussion has been around the possibility of St-Pierre returning at UFC 200, but the former UFC Welterweight Champion doesn’t think the UFC needs him on that card necessarily.

“Doesn’t need to be 200,” St-Pierre said. “I know it will have Conor McGregor who will be fighting against Nate Diaz, and with that they will already have a good card.”

“We will see what will happen, but again, there are things I cannot say. It depends on the plans of my agents and the UFC, We will see what is best for us and for them.”

Penick’s Analysis: It continues to be dragged along. It seems like his return will indeed happen, it’s just a matter of coming to terms on the when, where, and for how much. He is giving off the vibe that he wants to return, and it may just be a matter of time given the continued talk. Still, until it’s made official, it’s just talk for now.
