Cheick Kongo has a new opponent for next month’s Bellator 150 event, as an injury to Augusto Sakai has taken him out of the event. Bellator officials announced on Friday that Kongo will now meet Vinicius Quieroz on the Feb. 26 card.

Additionally, the event has added a women’s flyweight matchup between the 10-3 Lena Ovchynnikova and 5-1 Rebecca Ruth.

Quieroz enters on just over a month’s notice with a 3-1 mark inside the Bellator cage. The one-time UFC competitor has stopped each of his opponents in victory, including a knockout over Lavar Johnson and a submission over Ewerton Teixeira in his last two bouts. He returned from a near two-year layoff for the Teixeira fight, and will try to get a big win here to keep his streak alive.

As for Kongo, the former longtime UFC competitor will make his eighth appearance in Bellator in this matchup. He’s 5-2 through the first seven, most recently defeating former Bellator Heavyweight Champion Alexander Volkov last June.

Bellator 150 will be headlined by a Bantamweight Championship bout between Marcos Galvao and Eduardo Dantas, and airs live on Spike from the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas.
