WSOF 25’s lightweight tournament undergoes shakeup night before event due to late dropouts

The World Series of Fighting is running a one-night only eight-man lightweight tournament on Friday night on NBCSN, and on Thursday the lineup got shaken up a bit.

According to a report from MMAFighting.com, both Brian Cobb and tournament reserve fighter Benny Madrid dropped out of the event on Thursday, leading to some new matchups.

The new quarterfinal field now consists of the following:

 

  • Luis Palomino vs. Richard Patishnock – tournament quarterfinals
  • Brian Foster vs. Joao Zeferino – tournament quarterfinals
  • Mike Ricci vs. Joe Condon – tournament quarterfinals
  • Islam Mamedov vs. Jorge Patino – tournament quarterfinals
  • LaRue Burley vs. Ramil Mustapayev – tournament reserve bout

Friday’s broadcast will also feature a lightweight bout between UFC vets Jason High and Estevan Payan.
