Olympic Judo Medalist Kayla Harrison set to make MMA debut

Kayla Harrison is already a two-time Olympic Gold Medalist in Judo, but it seems she’s still looking for more gold. Harrison will make her debut for the newly formed Professional Fighters League, sometime in early 2018. Harrison is the only Olympic Judo gold medalist in U.S. history, and has the potential to do big things in MMA.

Henry’s Analysis: This isn’t an unexpected move. Though Harrison has been non-comital in the past when it comes to fighting, it still seemed inevitable. It’s going to be tough to find high quality opponents for her in the PFL but I still look forward to seeing what she can do in the sport of MMA.

Snoop Dogg will commentate for Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series

Snoop Dogg is a notable fight fan, and it appears as though he will now become involved with the sport in an official way. Snoop, along with UFC Hall of Famer Uriah Faber, will call the fights for Dana White’s new Tuesday Night Contender Series, on an alternate audio feed that will be called “SnoopCast.” The series is also expected to have a regular commentating team, but this will serve as an alternative that the UFC hopes will bring in a new fan base.

UFC 213 updated and finalized

Following the announcement that Robbie Lawler and Donald Cerrone will no longer be competing on the upcoming UFC 213 card, the UFC has decided to make a few changes. James Bochnovic and Trevin Giles will compete in a Light-Heavyweight fight, and Cody Stamman and Terrion Ware will compete in a Featherweight scrap. Also of note, Curtis Blaydes vs. Daniel Omielanczuk has been moved to the main card. Despite the loss of a marquee fight, this card is still packed with good fights.
