Ronda Rousey’s eventual UFC return could be pushed back even further given delays to an upcoming film project.

While appearing on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, Rousey said production for the “Road House” remake has been pushed back to later in the spring.

“Hopefully we’ll start around May. We’ll see,” she said (via FoxSports.com). “I promised that I would film ‘Road House’ after the last fight. I made a promise and that’s it. My word means something so I’m going to go film ‘Road House’ first.”

Penick’s Analysis: If she’s not starting filming on that one until May, it’s entirely possible that November won’t be a viable option for her return. She’s going to need time to dedicate herself to training without distractions, and if she’s still filming come summer that could push things further. She’ll almost assuredly be back to try to reclaim that title, it’s just a matter of how much that’s going to be delayed.
