I thought it was pretty good overall. It added a little interest to some of the matchups and added another talking point for people to discuss. I would still rather see them do it as a separate show, ala Selection Sunday for the NCAA basketball tournament, where you have analysts break down the matchups and lay out their picks, but this was pretty good. It was different and unique, which is a good thing. We need more of this kind of stuff in MMA.

I didn’t see the show but I know those who saw it liked it. I think it may have been a little more complicated than it needed to be. Instead of giving fighters the option of dates, they should just have them pick their opponents and worry about the dates later.

In a vacuum I think that it was a very good show, but by the end I was ready to get the main event over and go the bed. Now for the sake of context I should say that unlike all fight viewers, I had been watching MMA since the morning. My petty gripes aside, this show was very fun. Although they can have disastrous results, Bellator usually gets the entrainment side of MMA right. Also…Patrício Freire might have struggled to understand everything being said, but Bellator presented him as an absolute star.
