Early Sunday morning, UFC flyweight Rachael Ostovich was attacked in a Waianae, Hawaii home and was subsequently hospitalized. She has since been released from hospital and a felony domestic violence investigation has been opened by Honolulu police. This comes from an initial report Sunday night from TMZ with additional reporting from MMAFighting.

Ostovich is said to have suffered from a broken orbital bone as a result of the attack. The report from MMAFighting’s Marc Raimondi states that the alleged suspect is 27-year old Arnold Berdon, Ostovich’s husband, who also competes in MMA. No arrest has been made at this time.

Ostovich had been scheduled to fight Paige VanZant on UFC’s debut show on ESPN+ this coming January but has been pulled from the fight. A new opponent for VanZant is being sought out.

The 27-year old Ostovich competed on the 26th season of “The Ultimate Fighter” in the tournament to crown an inaugural UFC flyweight champion. She was seeded 10th in the 16 woman tournament and defeated Melinda Fabian in the opening round before losing to #2 seed Barb Honchak in the quarter finals. She is officially 1-1 in UFC, most recently losing to Montana de la Rosa this past July. Berdon is a 7-2 fighter who most recently won a fight for Titan FC in June.
