Saad Awad

Saad Awad’s upcoming June 29th bout against Ryan Couture is something I broke down with “Assassin” but multiple topics were covered. We discussed the recuperative effects of CBD products, being a longtime Bellator member whose finally getting that big promotional spotlight, etc. Saad also provided great insights about the recent dialogue in the sport about instantiating a 165lb weight class. Awad has competed at Welterweight, Lightweight, and took multiple catchweight bouts in between. Saad Awad’s next catchweight bout with Couture goes at Bellator 201 on Friday.

Robbie Peralta

Robbie Peralta caught up with me ahead of his fight with Juan Archuleta this Friday. We broke down his upcoming Bellator 201 contest and the relief of breaking a multi-fight losing skid in his last outing. The UFC veteran touched on the fact that this is his promotional debut on June 29th, talked about cross training with Tristar and Alliance, discussed maintaining a full time job after twelve years as a pro MMA fighter, plus so much more.

Alejandra Lara

Alejandra Lara will contend for the Bellator Women’s Flyweight championship at Bellator 201. The 23 year old has already been thrust into a main event title bid against titlist Ilima Lei-Macfarlane but has a quiet confidence and composure heading into Friday, June 29th. I spoke with Alejandra about utilizing acrobatic exercises to gain a lot of functional strength, training with the likes of Alexa Grasso and Roufusport, feeling slighted in her Bellator debut by not having her own on-screen name key, Lara’s commentary work with Empire MMA through the lens of how it informs her own efforts as a fighter, etc.
