FIve years ago this week, Dana White said he’d never do something which less than five years later he ended up doing. Here’s our story originally published on MMATorch.com on Oct. 13, 2011.

Brock Lesnar recently stated that he’d be open to a return match in the WWE “under the right circumstances.” However, those circumstances aren’t going to come around anytime soon, as he’s still under contract to the UFC. In an interview with MMADigest, Dana White made that point clear, but also discussed his reasoning for allowing Lesnar to take part in the “WWE 12” video game:

“Brock Lesnar will never wrestle for the WWE while he’s under contract to me. But to be in their video game? That’s part of his history. He came from the WWE. I brought Brock Lesnar into the UFC, guy had one fight. He was 1-0. The WWE built him up into the star that he was and for me to go back and now say ‘No, he’s mine,’ I don’t care about that. It doesn’t affect me or my business personally and it helps my athlete.”
