The main event of UFC Fight Night 84 between Michael Bisping and Anderson Silva was the clear best fight of the night, and they each took the extra $50,000 in bonus money as a result.

In addition to the “Fight of the Night” awards, the UFC handed out “Performance of the Night” bonuses to undercard fighters Scott Askham and Teemu Packalen.

Bisping and Silva had a wild five round fight to close out the card in London, with Bisping taking three rounds while surviving the other two in order to earn his biggest career decision victory. Silva nearly finished the fight at the end of the third round – and indeed it could be argued the fight should have been stopped – and then again several times in the fifth before letting Bisping off the hook, and as such he lost the decision.

Askham pulled off one hell of a KO early in the night against Chris Dempsey for his bonus, rocking Dempsey with a straight left and then taking out his wobbly opponent with a head kick to put him down and out. Packalen earned his bonus in just 24 seconds, knocking Thibault Gouti down with a sick uppercut before quickly transitioning to a rear naked choke for the tap.
