In what will hopefully not be a harbinger of things to come, UFC 194 has lost a fight to injury, as “The Karate Hottie” Michelle Waterson is out of a fight with Tecia Torres on the card.
The injury was first reported by MMAJunkie.com, and the UFC is searching for a replacement opponent to face Torres on the card.
It’s an unfortunate injury for Waterson, as she made an entertaining and successful UFC debut over Angela Magana in July. She was set for significant exposure on the Fox Sports 1 prelims for this card, but will now look to heal up for a 2016 return.
The 26-year-old Torres remains officially undefeated in her MMA career, as her losses during The Ultimate Fighter 20 tournament came in what were technically exhibition fights. She’s won two straight in the UFC, most recently defeating Angela Hill in June at UFC 188.
UFC 194 hits Las Vegas on Dec. 12, headlined on pay-per-view by the Featherweight Championship bout between Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor.
McGregor already said Aldo’s not going to show up, so guess we can just scrap this card now.
