Jared Cannonier vs Gregory Rodrigues
It’s time for Cannonier to make a run at the title….is what I would say if Cannonier hadn’t lost 3 out of his last 5. It seems that Cannonier’s window has closed.
I think Cannonier will want it more because he needs to get back on track but it feels like his time has come and gone.
Gregory Rodrigues hasn’t lost in 2 years so it’s not looking good for Cannonier. Stay clear of the power of Cannonier and it should be a relatively easy win.
Calvin Kattar vs Youssef Zalal
Loser of 4 of his last 5, notable losses as well. I’d say that it’s time for Calvin Kattar to make a serious run but he’s lucky to be employed. Kattar used to have a nauseous amount of hype around him and I just never really saw it with him. Living up to the expectations of fans and analysts can be harsh and 6 losses by decision isn’t the end of the world but the fight game is unforgiving.
Youseff Zalal hasn’t been beaten since 2022. I’d definitely put my money on him but Kattar has a certain desperation that can’t be underestimated. Youseff needs to put a guy like Calvin Kattar on his resume; a statement win if you will.
I couldn’t call this fight either way, gonna be fun to watch though.
Edmen Shahbazyan vs Dylan Budka
Its time for Edmen Shahbazyan to make a serious run in his career. Just 2 wins in his last 7 fights won’t cut it but it will get him cut if he continues to lose. He once had a great deal of hype behind him, he has since become a loser. I believe that in the right camp, anybody can have a Jorge Masvidal-like resurgence in their career.
2 fight losing streak for Dylan Budka, no room for error, the next loss might send him home permanently. Both men are looking for that spark, hoping to salvage their career. These guys aren’t fossils or anything, they have just already had careers with some rough patches that are heavily working against them. This win is only the first step for both men to make something of their career. Sure, 4-5 losses don’t seem like much however, they add up quickly and often at the wrong times.
