After making a successful UFC debut in August at UFC on Versus 5, Ronny Markes will drop to the middleweight division for his second appearance in the Octagon on February 15, taking on Aaron Simpson at UFC on Fuel 1 in Omaha, Neb.
The UFC announced the bout on Wednesday night.
Markes brings a 12-1 record into his second UFC bout, and has won five straight fights overall. In August, he took on Karlos Vemola in his debut, and earned a unanimous decision victory.
Simpson has won three straight in 2011 after suffering back to back losses in 2012. This year, he's posted victories over Mario Miranda, Brad Tavares, and most recently Eric "Red" Schafer, all by decision.
