Dalton Rosta vs. Ty Gwerder
Middleweight Fight
This was a pretty back and forth fight, not to mention it was the first time Rosta made it to the 3rd round in his career. Rosta did keep control, but not necessarily in a dominant way, it was more that Gwerder didn’t do much to prevent it from happening. Rosta has a bright future in MMA. Bellator is the perfect spot for him given that the Middleweight division is in a state of reshaping itself. Very solid fight from Rosta.

Brandon Girtz vs. Henry Corrales
Featherweight Fight
This was almost a boxing match. There was no intention of bringing any part of the fight to the ground unless someone was knocked out. Corrales seemed to be in more control that Girtz did. Girtz tok big wild swings on quite a few occasions and didn’t seem to make much of an effort to hide that he was loading up on Corrales. Corrales was very light on his feet and seemed much more efficient with his punches. This truly was a tough win for Henry “OK” Corrales.

Middleweight Championship Fight
Gegard Mousasi vs. Douglas Lima
The first two rounds of the fight went to Mousasi, no questions asked. Lima didn’t seem to have any answers for how he kept it standing. He landed a pretty serious amount more strikes than Lima did. Mousasi also stayed conscious of how quickly Lima could turn it around. Lima is already the Welterweight champion in Bellator, Mousasi gave himself a chance to correct mistakes against him early. The next two rounds seemed to reveal a slow burn type of strategy from Lima. He seemed to be chipping away at Mousasi, who was looking for a finish. Lima was conserving his energy very well in the 3rd and 4th, which left the old school “rope-a-dope” option open. Mousasi was consistent with his pressure but it lessened as the fight went on because of the energy he burnt off. Lima just didn’t seem all there for this fight. Mousasi kept up his pressure while Lima seemed to be a little bit too patient when waiting for an opening. Mousasi got Lima to the ground in the 5th and kept Lima down until the final bell.
