ESPN is reporting that the UFC is close to finalizing a strawweight title fight between champion Jessica Andrade and Weili Zhang for Aug. 31 in China.

After a weekend of debating weather Tatiana Suarez or Michelle Waterson would challenge  Jessica Andrade for UFC’s  strawweight title, it appears that the answer is Weili Zhang.

According to a report by ESPN, the UFC is close to finalizing a strawweight title fight between Andrade and Zhang at UFC on ESPN+ 15 on Aug. 31 at Universiade Sports Centre in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China.

Prior to this report, Michelle Waterson made her case to ESPN’s Ariel Helwani that she should receive a shot at Andrade, despite UFC president Dana White dismissing Waterson as an immediate challenger.

The discussion arose, after strawweight contender Tatiana Suarez defeated Nina Ansaroff at UFC 238.
