UFC Rochester was this past weekend. Let’s get right to the rundown.
UFC Rochester
GOOD- Davi Ramos vs. Austin Hubbard
This was a solid fight. Nothing great, but Ramos was the better fighter. Hubbard did fine on short notice, but Ramos won the decision. Good win for Ramos.
GOOD- Charles Oliveira stops Nik Lentz
Oliveira landed some hard shots, but Lentz was able to score with some takedowns. The damage from Oliviera on the feet took its toll, though, and Lentz went down not quite halfway through the second round and the fight was over. Good win for Oliveira.
GOOD- Vicente Luque stops Derrick Krantz
Krantz started strong, getting a takedown and attempting a submission. However, Luque got back to his feet and plastered Krantz, dropping him. Luque stayed on him and pounded him out for the win. Good win for Luque.
GOOD- Felicia Spencer submits Megan Anderson
Spencer made her UFC debut here in style as she was able to get Anderson down early in the first and take her back, throwing punches to try to stay busy. She was looking for the rear-naked choke and got it, locking it in for the big win. Good win for Spencer.
GOOD- Ian Heinisch vs. Antonio Carlos Junior
Junior scored with some takedowns in the first round and controlled things, but Heinisch fought back and took the second and third rounds en route to the decision victory. This was a good win for Heinisch as he fought through adversity to get the win.
GOOD- Rafael dos Anjos submits Kevin Lee
Lee fought hard and really pushed the pace early and RDA was right there with him. Both guys showed tremendous cardio. Lee probably took a few of the early rounds as he pressed the action but Dos Anjos fought back in the fourth round. He avoided a takedown and started landing shots on Lee, then they scrambled and RDA ended up on top and locked in an arm triangle for the submission win. Good win for RDA and a tough loss for Lee, as he made his welterweight debut here.

Tony Ferguson is scheduled to fight Donald Cerrone at UFC 238 on June 8th. I still think Ferguson’s next fight should be for the UFC Lightweight Title but this is definitely a huge fight. If Ferguson wins, he has to get the next title shot. That would be his 12th win in a row, what else does a guy need to do? If Cerrone wins, he’s there in the mix as well. I wouldn’t say he deserves a title shot over other guys but that would be his third win in a row, with one of them being over the highly ranked Ferguson. It’s an interesting fight and one I’m super excited for. I don’t like picking against Cerrone, but there’s no way I can pick against Ferguson. Not with the things he’s done. We won’t have to wait long for this fight and hopefully, it brings some clarity to the title picture.
