Restraining order against Ferguson

MMAJunkie is reporting that the wife of UFC lightweight Tony Ferguson has filed a restraining order against him after police have had to visit their residence on more than one occasion.

Cristina Ferguson filed the order in Orange County against her husband. MMAJunkie also obtained five police reports of incidents regarding the Fergusons.

A report from Feb. 19 stated that someone requested a welfare check on Tony Ferguson after he had “not slept for three days and was tearing apart the home.” He is also said to have “broke apart the fire place and believed someone placed a (computer) chip in his leg.”

A Feb. 16 incident saw Cristina Ferguson call police alleging Tony was “throwing ‘holy water’ at her.” A condition which was redacted from the report was said to be getting worse and he refused to go to the hospital for evaluation.

It’s important to note that no charges have been made against Ferguson. If true, these reports paint an alarming picture of the behavior of one of UFC’s top lightweights. Ferguson has been in many tough fights and has won 11 straight going back to 2012.

In his three professional losses, Ferguson has never been knocked out.

McGregor video surfaces

Conor McGregor has been the talk of the MMA landscape all week after his arrest for smashing the cell phone of a fan outside of a Miami hotel. Now, TMZ has released video of the alleged incident that saw McGregor booked on charges of mischief and robbery.

The very short clip shows a person who appears to be McGregor stepping on a cell phone while surrounded by some other people. A man can be seen being held back by what appears to be a security guard.

The incident occurred Monday morning at the Fontainbleu hotel as Ahmed Abdirzak is said to have tried to take a picture of McGregor leaving the hotel. McGregor was arrested Monday night and released on $12,500 bond with conditions to appear in court on April 10.

Abdirzak has also filed a civil suit against McGregor claiming $15,000 in damages for the phone, as well as for “emotional distress” from the alleged incident.
