THURSDAY 4/17 NIGHTTIME NEWS UPDATE
-UFC on Fox 11 comes to Orlando on Saturday night, and MMATorch contributor Kale Havervold took a look at the night's main event in his point by point breakdown of the Travis Browne vs. Fabricio Werdum bout. He's got Browne by TKO in the first round, and I think that's highly possible on Saturday. Excerpt: “Barring a ground grappling war, I see this being a fairly one sided fight in favour of Travis Browne. Despite only being stopped once in his career, I don't see Werdum doing much on the feet to stop Browne. Travis Browne seems hell bent on getting that title shot and I don't see Werdum being able to stop him.” Get the full breakdown at our dedicated mobile site in your phone or tablet web browser at MMATorch.com. The new site has been specially designed for iPhones, iPads, Android phones, and Android tablets!
-Dana White refuses to allow Gina Carano talk to disappear. He said on Wednesday night that their conversation with her this past week went well, and though she's not signed yet and isn't fighting Ronda Rousey yet, she is indeed interested in fighting and they may still look to get her a fight. White's quotes and my further commentary at MMATorch.com!
-Dan Henderson talked about drug testing and continuing to fight without TRT going forward this past week. He said he's fine continuing on without a TRT regimen after the ban, but wants to see the UFC implement random drug testing for everyone. That's the next step needed in this process for sure, and the UFC at least says it's what they'll be helping put in place with the commissions. His full quote and my analysis on the main listing on the dedicated mobile site at MMATorch.com in your web browser!
-Finally tonight, check out some highlight videos from last night's “Ultimate Fighter: Nations” Finale event if you missed the card. We've got videos posted of the “TUF: Nations” finals bouts, won by Chad Laprise and Elias Theodorou, as well as of the main event, which saw Tim Kennedy beat Michael Bisping.
We want to again thank all of our readers for their feedback and patience as we work through the brand new mobile site launch! We're an independent voice in the MMA space with no corporate backing, and as such we stay afloat on ad revenue. This shift to the full listing on mobile web brings us a better chance to keep ourselves going and to bring our readers everything we have for the last five years and more, as the mobile advertising market is simply stronger than that on the app. Continue sending us your feedback to mmatorch@gmail.com and let us know how the new features with the Disqus comments section and more are working for you on mobile web!
DON'T GO YET... WE SUGGEST THESE MMATORCH ARTICLES, TOO!
