Name: Joshua Martin Neer

Nickname: The Dentist

Professional MMA Record: 25-8-1

Biography: Neer was born on March 24, 1983, and is an American mixed martial arts fighter from Des Moines, IA. He trains with Des Moines Mixed Martial Arts Academy in Des Moines, IA. Neer is formerly an MFS (Miletich Fighting Systems) Elite fighter.

Josh started his MMA career on March 15th, 2003 and won via slam KO in the 1st round. He followed that up 6 months later with another 1st round TKO win against Royce Louck. He then fought every chance he could get, fighting a total of 8 times in 2004 (6-1-1). Apparently he was trying to fight at a Jeremy Horn type pace because he had 9 more bouts in 2005. He went 7-2 in ’05 losing only to Drew Fickett in his UFC debut, and Nick “The GOAT” Thompson. He received the nickname "The Dentist" because in 2 consecutive fights he knocked out some of his opponents teeth, and the announcer called him "The Dentist" and it just stuck.
His UFC career has been a rollercoaster ride. He never puts on a boring fight, but a lot of that is due to the non-stop trash talking that takes place once he's inside the cage. He holds an unimpressive record of 4-5 in the UFC, but the record doesn’t tell the whole story. Neer is someone who never backs down from a challenge and is always willing to stand and bang. He has never looked bad in his 5 UFC losses, but he desperately needs a win to give Dana and the Fertitas a reason to keep him around.
