Whose performance was most impressive at UFC 123 in Detroit?
RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
Dude. B.J. Penn knocked Matt Hughes' face off in 21 seconds. How can you even ask such a question?
Honorable mention goes to Mike Lullo, for coming out for the third round against Edson Barboza; and also to Barboza, although I'd like to see him leg kick someone who is not putting all their weight on their front leg. Paul Kelly, perhaps?

B.J. Penn was absolutely stunning at UFC 123. I don't think I have ever seen him come out that aggressive. Matt Hughes definitely made a mistake by coming right out with a sloppy jab. But once again B.J.'s killer instinct took over and put away a Hall of Famer in only 21 seconds. No one has ever finished off Matt Hughes like that in his 50+ fights. Truly amazing.
FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
The obvious and only answer is B.J. Penn. Anytime you crush a guy in 21 seconds, you were most impressive. The only way to beat that is to defeat a guy in 20 seconds or less. It's B.J., he was most dominant.
ERIC HOBAUGH, MMATORCH SPECIALIST
I hate that I am picking the most obvious fight, but I think B.J. was most impressive. I questioned his heart and motivation in this fight and he proved me wrong. It is not just that he knocked out Hughes, but in under a minute. He destroyed the legend and solidified his legacy as one of the best fighters in UFC history.
JASON AMADI, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
I was most impressed by Phil Davis' performance at UFC 123. We see so very many wrestlers take people down, ground and pound, and grind out a decision. But with Phil Davis we're seeing a wrestler who is showing incredible submission instincts once the fight hits the mat. An accomplished amateur wrestler who is capable of taking down and submitting all of his competition is intriguing, and the more he sharpens his submission game, the more dynamic of a prospect he becomes.
