Who wins the Jacare Souza-Francis Carmont bout at UFN 36, and how?
DAN MOORE, MMATORCH UK COLUMNIST
I've written off Francis Carmont more times then I ever care to remember and he always proves me wrong. Despite my past history in backing against him, I still have to side with Jacare Souza to get the win. Carmont is yet to face anyone as good and as versatile as Jacare; in fact, he's not face anyone even close to it.
Jacare is far too good off of his back for Carmont to simply take him down every round and grind out a decision victory. That being said, I believe it's the only way Carmont can win this fight so he doesn't really have a choice. I can't see this one lasting longer then two-rounds with Jacare winning by either TKO or Submission.
KALE HAVERVOLD, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
I believe Souza wins the fight as long as he manages to stay out from under Carmont for long periods of time. I believe he wins this fight by UD.
CAMERON LYMAN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST
Jacare lands a shot on Carmont while he goes for a takedown which is stuffed by Sousa which sets up a gator roll choke. What? It could happen. Jacare by submission in round one.
BRAD WALKER, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
Jacare by KO probably inside of the first round. Carmont is outmatched in so many ways in this fight.
FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR
Carmont is really tough, but I think Jacare takes him out. I want to see these guys battling on the ground. I think Jacare is better on the ground and that leads him to victory. It's possible they try standing with each other, but I don't think that lasts too long. I think Jacare wins by second round submission.
