Did anything on Saturday's UFC on Fuel 9 card surprise you? What was your favorite moment, fight, or finish from the card?

RICH HANSEN, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

Other than Robbie Peralta laying a Gobbledygooker, I can't say anything surprised me. Not that I was laying money on any of it, mind you. There wasn't very much on this card that I'm going to remember a week from now, and frankly I've forgotten most of it already. It was just filler, but not in a bad way. I mean, meaningless Saturday afternoon UFC fights still beats most all, right? I suppose Ryan Couture getting the piss beaten out of him by a mid-carder made me smirk a little, but I don't like when the most memorable moment on a card is the (justified) demise of someone I've never met, who might be a perfectly nice dude, ya dig? So, um... Matt Mitrione was on this one, right? Yeah? OK, Mitrione's destruction of whatshisname did it for me. I guess.

FRANK HYDEN, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

Nothing really surprised me. I would say that Ross Pearson whopping up on Ryan Couture was my favorite finish, though "Meathead" Matt Mitrione taking out Phil Defries is a close second. Gegard Mousasi showcased some really nice tecnhique, but his opponent was truly outmatched.

ERIC HOBAUGH, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

What surprised me most was how terrible the broadcast was. It is always a big risk to book a television card and only have one fight anyone cares about. This was one of the most dissapointing cards I can remember. Conar McGregor was the only surprise I got from UFC on Fuel 9. He looks like he might be able to come in and fight his way into the top ten.

TONY BECERRA, MMATORCH CONTRIBUTOR

What surprised me the most was that the event despite its changes was as entertaining as it was. There were some pretty good matches and impressive finishes but the highlight for me was the Pickett vs Easton fight.

BRAD WALKER, MMATORCH COLUMNIST

The things that surprised me about the fuel card are not good things. First, I give massive amounts of credit to any man willing to step in and face Gegard Mousassi much less when they need to cut 20 pounds in a very short span and mentally prepare for such a great fighter. What surprised me is that Gegard went in as a -2000 favorite and really didnt do anything to wow the UFC crowd in his debut. Ryan Couture did what we all hoped he would do and wound up getting his ass kicked, I've actually seen butterfly kisses with more oomph to them than a Ryan Couture uppercut. Overall the card didnt really get my interest after Gustafsson pulled out, but I do look forward to seeing what is next for Gegard Mousassi.
