20-year-old Max Holloway picked up his second straight win in the Octagon on Saturday night, stopping Ultimate Fighter 15 semifinalist Justin Lawrence in the second round of a competitive fight at UFC 150.
Lawrence was well on his way to going up two rounds to none on the judges' scorecards, but Holloway came at him with a series of vicious strikes to the body that took him out. It began with a knee to the body against the cage, one that had Lawrence visibly leering, and Holloway followed up with a beautiful combination ending with a left hook to the gut that sent Lawrence doubling over in pain.
A few strikes on the ground brought in the referee, who stopped the bout to give Holloway a 2-1 mark inside the Octagon. For Lawrence, the loss was officially the first in his young career, stopping a four-fight winning run to kick things off.
