An injury to Dennis Hallman has taken him out of a bout with Ultimate Fighter winner Tony Ferguson at UFC on Fox 3 this May, according to multiple published reports. Per those reports, Hallman will be replaced by Thiago Tavares on the card.
Tavares has won two straight fights, as well as three of four and four in his last six bouts. Most recently he took a decision over Sam Stout at January's UFC 142 event in Brazil.
Ferguson has been on a tear to kick off his UFC career. After knocking out Ramsey Nijem last summer to win the 13th season of the show, he dropped to lightweight, where he's earned a doctor's stoppage over Aaron Riley, and a decision over Yves Edwards in a fun fight at The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale in December.
UFC on Fox 3 takes place May 5 in New Jersey, headlined by the lightweight bout between Jim Miller and Nate Diaz.
