Strikeforce kicked off their new deal with Showtime on Saturday night with an event in Las Vegas headlined by Luke Rockhold vs. Keith Jardine. The event was featured during Showtime's free preview weekend, which made the pay-cable station available in 60 million homes instead of the 18 million of their subscribers.
That added number of homes makes the ratings for the event all that more disappointing, as it drew an average of just 344,000 homes, according to a report from MMAJunkie.com.
The only event of the last year that did worse in viewership was September's Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix semifinals, which drew just 274,000 viewers.
