...OH, ONE MORE THING - PLEASE BOOKMARK US & VISIT DAILY!
The UFC's return to Japan this February is complete with the addition of a twelfth fight, as featherweights Tiequan Zhang and Leonard Garcia have been announced for the event.
"The Mongolian Wolf" will fight in Japan for the first time, and will look to bounce back from a loss in his last fight. The Chinese fighter has gone 2-2 under the Zuffa banner, with both losses coming in his last three fights. In his last bout, Zhang lost a decision to Darren Elkins at UFC 136 in October.
Garcia will hope to bounce back from back to back losses to Chan Sung Jung and Nam Phan in the UFC. The interesting part of those fights is that Garcia took disputed decisions over both of them for the only two wins in his last seven fights, with each fighter avenging what many felt was poor judging in both fights. Garcia is just 3-5-1 in his last nine fights, with all three wins coming by debatable split decision.
UFC 144 is headlined by the Lightweight Championship bout between Frankie Edgar and Ben Henderson, and will air live on pay-per-view in North America on Saturday, February 25.
